  A: At this time we don't require a specific amount of points providing you have met all other qualifications requirements.  Refer to the "How to Qualify Page".

  A: Yes, unless you have received a berth from an NIT or by hosting a USFA State Qualifier.

8. Q: What is the difference between the World Series and the Nationals?
  A:

The USFA World Series is the pinnacle event of the year with a cap of 400 teams. Because we understand that teams don't always have the time and money to come to Panama City Beach each year and because we have limited space to 400 teams, in 2005 we began offering our National Events as an alternative to the World Series. The National events are designed to mirror the World Series format on a more Regional level. Teams may attend any USFA National event they choose. While the World Series will remain in Panama City Beach each year, the locations of the National events will vary.

9. Q: How do we find out about hosting a USFA State Qualifier? What are the costs and what is required?
  A:

Anyone can apply to host a USFA State Qualifier. We encourage teams to host USFA events to assist in fundraising. You can apply to host a USFA State Qualifier by filling out the online application or simply contact your Area or State Director for more details. The complete details for a hosting an event are located required on the Tournament Application  USFA events are awarded by the local/state directors and are based on date and location. As a rule of thumb, USFA tries to ensure events aren't within 100 miles of each other on any given weekend.

11. Q: Does USFA post the order of finish for tournament anywhere?
  A:

Yes, go to the National Tournament Database and use the pull down menus to narrow your search. Be sure to choose "Complete Tournaments" under the pull down menu STATUS. This will give you the Order of Finish of all past USFA Events. If your event is not listed or the results have not been posted within a few days of the event, please contact Regional Director Bobby Hair

12. Q: If we play in a USFA event in another state,  do receive credit for those points?
  A:

Yes, your team will receive points regardless of where you play and you may attend a state qualifier any state, however you must attend the State Tournament in the state your team is registered.

13. Q: What is the difference between a State Qualifier and an NIT?
A:

A State Qualifier, is just as the name implies - it is an event that qualifies your team to attend your USFA State Tournament.

A NIT is a National Invitational Tournament - Double Points events. The top two places at these events earn a direct berth  to the World Series. Teams that don't receive a berth at a NIT will still receive double points for attending and will have also met the state qualifier requirement.

Every team that plays in a SQ or NIT receives points based on order of finish as follows:

14. Q: What safety & equipment guidelines does USFA use?
A:

USFA adheres to all safety guidelines established by the National Governing Body of softball. This includes illegal bats, mandatory face masks, etc.
